Mission 4: New Friends, Old Enemies
Walkthrough Author: Locdog
Synopsis: Darius attempts to forge an alliance with the Haroun people, but must first deal with their mistrust of outsiders and the splinter factions within the greater Haroun kingdom. To make matters worse, rumors have been circulating of armies of undead roaming the countryside...

Mission Objectives: - Do not go to war with the Greater Haroun Kingdom
- Establish a Treaty with the Greater Haroun Kingdom
- Take control of all the independent Haroun Sanctuaries on the map

Available Heroes: - Darius Javidan

Lair Enemies: - Rhaksha
- Giant Spiders
- Dark Wolves
- Slaan

# of Monuments: 1

Non-Gold Bonuses from Monuments: Leila Javidan
Tips on Completing the Mission: - This mission starts off tricky, because within the first minute about 4-5 Ceyah companies are going to attack your starting village. The trouble is you only have two companies. Stick close to your base until the Ceyah attack, and try and stay in the woods to take advantage of the DV bonus it provides. The Haroun militia can probably handle about one zombie company before they are wiped out, so try and make sure you can support them if necessary. You'll probably face at least one other similar attack on one of your villages during the game, so be prepared to move in to provide support to your militia when that happens. However, you won't face any front lines tougher than skeletons, and at worst a shadow beast in support.

- There is no Ceyah village on this map. Enemies come through a portal located on the eastern tip of the map behind a mountain range. Once you find this portal, it closes up, stopping reinforcements. However, depending on when you find this portal there is still a good chance of some Ceyah companies being on the map, so stay alert.

- There are 3 independent Haroun Sanctuaries on the map. The northern most one will need to be taken by force, and the other two should join automatically.

- In order to get the treaty with the greater Haroun kingdom, you will need to have a rating of about 79 (found on the politics sidebar). Your rating can be increased in the following ways (listed in the order they should be completed to obtain the best effect): Bringing all the independent sanctuaries under your banner, defeating lair enemies and the Ceyah armies, Repairing the damaged Haroun Kingdom sanctuary, Discovering the Haroun Capital (south corner of map), giving a tribute of gold (use only as a last resort to boost your rating if it is not quite high enough). In contrast, waging a losing campaign or acting aggressive (either by building outposts in close proximity to Haroun Kingdom Sanctuaries or attacking a sanctuary outright) will cause you to lose favor and possibly end up starting a war. Don't forget that your rating also degrades with the passage of time, so it is also important to complete tasks as quickly as possible.

- There are no Mareten settlements on this map, so the only front line units available to you are engineers, windriders, and rainbringers. I recommend going with all windriders, as their speed means you can send them anywhere on the map fairly quickly. You can add some rangers in support to provide some magic attack as well. Have at least one engineer company so you can repair the damaged Haroun Kingdom sanctuary.

Mission 5: In the Shadow of Evil

- Leila Javidan

Lair Enemies: - Rhaksha
- Giant Spiders
- Dark Wolves
- Slaan
- Young Dragon

Non-Gold Bonuses from Monuments: White Steel Blade, Ironwood Bow, Samman Ravid, Ghalen Mordecai (from the Ceyah village of Ravenswood)

Tips on Completing the Mission: - First off, I'd like to note two small details of this mission that Timegate revisited in KAG. At one point in the game, you will gain access to an outpost. You're told that the outpost has survived because of it's proximity to a dragon's lair, and Shohn Maht (the leader of the Ceyah forces) has no desire to anger the dragon. This fits in nicely with the mission in KAG when you must help Shohn Maht recover his citadel from the dragon (an Ice Drake) that has taken control of it. Secondly, after defeating the dragon, you are rewarded with the amulet of Samman Ravid. Samman is a Kohan that you must fight and defeat in the previously mentioned level of KAG.

- Stick to the southern part of the map to start with. You'll find two Drauga enclaves and a Council town that will join your cause (you will need to take the Drauga by force).

- There is a Ceyah village in the forest to the NE of your starting position. You should take it before heading north to fight the main Ceyah forces, as this is the town you will get Ghalen Mordecai from. However, there are plenty of Rhaksha nests, Slaan huts, and spider nests in the forest that will slow you down, so you may need to retreat to a ZOS at some point to regroup.

- Initially, I would try to go with the Berzerker/mage combo for companies, but since your starting point for this mission is a Royalist settlement, your objective should be clear: get Battle Priests as quickly as possible. a company of Grenadiers/Battle Priest/Cleric will suit you well on this map. several battle priests will make quick work of any front line Ceyah units, save the engineer, but your grenadiers will be more than strong enough to deal with the engineers and any support units left. By the end of the mission I had 6 of these companies, and they make an excellent front line to send into battle against Shohn Maht, with the rest of your companies bringing up the rear for support.

Mission 6: Creatures of Darkness
Walkthrough Author: Locdog
Synopsis: Darius comes to the aid of Roxanna, another member of the house of Javidan, whose kingdom is being menaced by the Ceyah.
Mission Objectives: - Don't let any of the initial outposts you are given at the start of the mission be destroyed.
- Repair all of the initial outposts. Build at least one more outpost.
- Roxanna Javidan must not be killed.
- Find the Dark Rift the Ceyah are using to invade the land.
- After finding the Rift, bring Roxanna to it so she can close it.

Available Heroes: - Darius Javidan
- Roxanna Javidan
- Samman Ravid
- Ghalen Mordecai

Lair Enemies: - Rhaksha
- Giant Spiders
- Dark Wolves
- Slaan

# of Monuments: 2

Non-Gold Bonuses from Monuments: Academy of Magicks, Archmage, Cyrus Naadev, Bonus Debriefing Screen

Tips on Completing the Mission: - Since you start off with two engineering companies, completing all the outpost repairs and constructions should not be a problem. Unfortunately, the Royalist city you start out with is the only settlement on the map, so to build more units you will need to settle new villages. If you've played multiplayer before, now's a good time to put those skills to good use. If not, there's several good multiplayer strategy guides for the Royalists (and all other factions) on the Awakening website that can help you.

- Again, try and incorporate Battle Priests into your units, but since early on in the game you'll mostly be fighting dark wolves and lair creatures I'd put a Paladin in the second support slot so you can get a bit more offense from your companies when fighting non-shadow units.

The portal is located at the western corner of the map. Actually, it's two portals, but one will close automatically regardless of what unit touches it, while Roxanna needs to close the other portal. The portal is guarded by a Shadow Lord. If you've never seen a Shadeling swarm before, now will be your first time, because Shadow Lords summon Shadow Demons, who in turn summon Shadelings. However, it's only one Shadow Lord you have to worry about, so provided you have enough companies you should be able to defeat the Shadow Lord without any problems.
